Description
Extreme Security with the 165mm Anti-Ram Inground Bollard
The 165mm Inground Anti-Ram Raid Asset Protection Bollard is a high-capacity security solution engineered to provide a formidable physical barrier for heavy-duty commercial and industrial applications. Designed specifically for ram-raid prevention and high-risk asset protection, this robust post is the ideal choice for safeguarding building perimeters, warehouse roller doors, and high-value storefronts. Because it features a 5mm wall thickness and an integrated internal reinforcement, it offers substantial vehicle deterrence where standard security measures are not sufficient.
Key Features
Reinforced Anti-Ram Core: This bollard features a steel RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) welded inside the main casing, extending from 100mm below the top to 400mm out of the bottom. This internal reinforcement significantly increases the structural strength and stopping power, ensuring the post remains standing even under extreme impact forces from a vehicle.
Dual-Layer Corrosion Protection: We hot-dip galvanise each unit after manufacturing to provide a comprehensive protective coating, which is then followed by a durable Safety Yellow powder coat. This multi-layer treatment allows the bollard to withstand the elements and maintain a professional appearance while resisting rust in any Australian outdoor setting.
Heavy-Duty Structural Integrity: With a substantial 165mm diameter and a solid 5mm wall thickness, this bollard offers elite impact resistance compared to standard industrial alternatives. The design also includes a removable plastic cap, allowing you to fill the hollow core with concrete on-site to further enhance the overall mass and defensive capabilities of the barrier.
Secure Permanent Anchoring: Standing at a total length of 1800mm, this unit is designed for deep sub-surface installation to provide maximum leverage against vehicle strikes. The extended internal RHS section and heavy-duty profile ensure a permanent, non-twist anchor once you set the post in a concrete footing or core-drilled hole.
Formidable Protection for High-Risk Infrastructure
We built this unit for maximum durability and extreme impact resistance. It effectively manages safety for large-scale warehouses and busy commercial sites prone to ram-raid risks. Additionally, the reinforced steel construction creates a reliable physical deterrent against deliberate vehicle intrusions. Each post ensures your most valuable assets stay protected while clearly marking boundaries for drivers and machinery operators. Furthermore, the vibrant yellow finish serves as a clear visual warning to prevent accidental collisions.
Professional Site Safety Applications
This anti-ram inground system works perfectly for both new industrial developments and high-security retrofits. For instance, it provides an economical way to protect storefronts and sensitive facility equipment from heavy vehicle strikes. Many customers also use these 165mm bollards to secure site perimeters and heavy-vehicle access points. Overall, it offers a professional solution that balances maximum security with long-lasting performance.
Please note: While some images may show custom paint jobs, these bollards are supplied in a standard high-visibility Safety Yellow finish.

Inground Bollard Installation
1. Locate
Find where the bollards will be installed.
2. Check for Hazards
Always check for hazards such as water pipes, gas lines and underground wiring before digging.
Also check traffic conditions to ensure safety for yourself, pedestrians and vehicles.
3. Drill Recommendations
| Surface | Recommendation |
|---|
| Bitumen | Cut bitumen to a square at least bollard width + 100mm, then dig to a depth of at least 600mm |
| Concrete | Core drill with a bit at least bollard width + 100mm, then dig to a depth of at least 400mm |
| Sand / soil | Dig a 350mm × 350mm concrete footing to a depth of at least 600mm |
4. Install Bollard
Place the bollard assembly in the centre of the installation hole.
5. Concrete
Mix and prepare concrete according to instructions, then pour evenly into the site.
6. Inspect
Inspect the bollard to ensure it is level.
7. Time to Cure
Allow 2–3 days minimum for concrete to cure before beginning construction work on the surface.
Moisture and cool temperatures may slow the curing process.
Filling of Bollards
We do not recommend filling bollards with concrete, as a hard impact may cause the bollard to snap at the base.
If filling is required, we recommend sand or loose gravel, which still allows the bollard to bend on impact.
Note:
These recommendations are a guideline only and may not account for site-specific conditions.
