Description
High-Impact Security with the 100mm RHS In-Ground Bollard
The 100mm RHS In-Ground Bollard is a heavy-duty asset protection solution designed to elevate your facility’s security and withstand high-impact risks. Engineered specifically for high-risk Australian environments, this unit features a massive 8mm wall thickness that offers elite structural integrity and resistance far beyond standard 3mm or 4mm alternatives. Because it combines this heavy-gauge steel with a sleek Rectangular Hollow Section (RHS) profile, it provides a formidable physical and visual deterrent for warehouse docks, shopfronts, and commercial perimeters.
Key Features
Maximum Impact Resistance: Constructed from heavy-gauge 8mm thick RHS steel, this bollard is built to withstand significant impact forces. This robust design offers a level of protection that far exceeds standard commercial alternatives, which ensures your most critical infrastructure remains safe from vehicle intrusions.
Permanent In-Ground Stability: Standing at a total length of 1800mm, this post is designed for deep sub-surface casting into a concrete footing. The four protruding hold-down lugs at the base ensure a permanent, non-twist anchor once set, providing superior stability against heavy vehicle strikes.
Dual-Layer Corrosion Protection: We hot-dip galvanise each bollard after manufacturing for premium rust resistance, which is then finished with a UV-stable black powder coat. This multi-layer treatment allows the unit to maintain its structural strength and professional appearance even in the harshest outdoor environments.
Industrial-Grade Security: This is the ideal solution for sites where standard security simply isn’t enough to provide the necessary peace of mind. Its substantial mass and reinforced profile make it a highly effective permanent barrier for safeguarding high-value assets and pedestrian zones.
Formidable Protection for Critical Infrastructure
We built this unit for maximum durability and extreme impact resistance. It effectively manages safety for large-scale industrial facilities and busy loading bays. Additionally, the heavy-gauge steel construction creates a reliable physical barrier against vehicle intrusions. Each post ensures your most valuable assets stay protected while clearly marking boundaries for drivers and machinery operators. Furthermore, the professional black finish integrates seamlessly into modern architectural landscapes.
Professional Site Safety Applications
This RHS inground system works perfectly for both new industrial developments and high-risk retrofits. For instance, it provides an economical way to protect storefronts and sensitive equipment from accidental damage. Many customers also use these 100mm bollards to secure site perimeters and private access roads. Overall, it offers a professional solution that balances high-level security with long-lasting performance.

Inground Bollard Installation
1. Locate
Find where the bollards will be installed.
2. Check for Hazards
Always check for hazards such as water pipes, gas lines and underground wiring before digging.
Also check traffic conditions to ensure safety for yourself, pedestrians and vehicles.
3. Drill Recommendations
| Surface | Recommendation |
|---|
| Bitumen | Cut bitumen to a square at least bollard width + 100mm, then dig to a depth of at least 600mm |
| Concrete | Core drill with a bit at least bollard width + 100mm, then dig to a depth of at least 400mm |
| Sand / soil | Dig a 350mm × 350mm concrete footing to a depth of at least 600mm |
4. Install Bollard
Place the bollard assembly in the centre of the installation hole.
5. Concrete
Mix and prepare concrete according to instructions, then pour evenly into the site.
6. Inspect
Inspect the bollard to ensure it is level.
7. Time to Cure
Allow 2–3 days minimum for concrete to cure before beginning construction work on the surface.
Moisture and cool temperatures may slow the curing process.
Filling of Bollards
We do not recommend filling bollards with concrete, as a hard impact may cause the bollard to snap at the base.
If filling is required, we recommend sand or loose gravel, which still allows the bollard to bend on impact.
Note:
These recommendations are a guideline only and may not account for site-specific conditions.
